FINDING CHEAP FLIGHTS

Momondo This website search across airlines, travel sites and low-cost carriers, find the best flight tickets and direct you to the companies that sell them. With one click you can see which ticket is the cheapest, quickest or best deal. All you have to do is choose and you are ready to travel the world.

Skyscanner This great website searches a lot of different airlines, including many of the budget carriers that larger sites miss. I always start with Skyscanner before comparing it with other websites.

KAYAK This website searches other travel sites for you and show their offer in a clear, intuitive display – so you can easily compare and filter the results. Once you find what you want, we let you choose where to book whereas most other travel sites do not. KAYAK is available in over 40 international sites and 20 languages.

Google Flight One of the best flight search engines out there, Google Flights lets you enter your departure airport and see flights all over the world in a map so you can see where the cheapest destination in. They also suggest different dates for cheaper flights.

Tiket.com This website is one of the best in Indonesia, not only for flight tickets, but also for hotels, train tickets, concerts, and even car hires. We’ve been using services from Tiket.com in the past few years.

ACCOMMODATIONS

AirBnB AirBnB connects you with homeowners who rent out their homes/apartments to you. You’ll get all the comforts of home, the chance to stay in a local, non-touristy part of where you are going, and pay a fraction of the cost of a hotel room. (If you’re new to Airbnb, get Rp295,000 off or your first stay!)

Booking.com Booking.com provides a great resource and booking site for cheap hotels and other accommodation. I like their easy to use interface too, wide selection, and no money down policy. They are especially good for listing in developing countries.

TRANSPORTATION

Rome2Rio This website allows you to see how to get from point A to point B the best and cheapest way possible. Just enter your departure and arrival destinations and it will give you all the bus, train, plane, or boat routes that can get you there as well as how much they cost. One of the best transportation website out there!

megabus.com Megabus.com is the market-leading budget inter-city coach operator in the UK, Canada and the USA as low as $1/£1.  If you are a student, you can even get another 10% discount with your NUS card (UK).

Trainline Trainline is Europe’s leading retailer of train and coach tickets. They work with 180+ rail and coach companies to offer our customers travel to thousands of destinations in and across 35+ countries.

Uber Uber is connecting riders to drivers through an app, and make cities more accessible, opening up more possibilities for riders and more business for drivers. Uber’s rapidly expanding global presence in more than 60 cities around the world. (If you’re new to Uber, get a discount up to £3 or equivalent for your first ride).
